Tonya Penfield

After working, "playing," and worshipping with Tonya for more than 20 years, Dottie's passion to serve and, most importantly, her desire to strengthen her own personal walk with God, have led to her role in supporting Tonya as she shares her unique gift of ministry. According to Dottie, not only is her life transformed as she hears a message being delivered, but it’s transformed again and again as she relives moments in the editing process.A native of a rural Chicago suburb, Dottie grew up with humble beginnings but was blessed with loving parents who provided a solid Christian foundation. She gave her life to Christ at the age of 12, shortly after a dangerously close brush with death in a car accident. While weak in her understanding of faith at the time, she knew two things that were all she needed to know: (1) Jesus is the only way to heaven, and (2) life can be snatched away in the blink of an eye. Dottie wanted desperately to be certain of where she would spend eternity. Dottie is married with two grown children and is a long-time member of Community Bible Church in San Antonio. Growing up as Lutheran in her younger years, she belonged to various denominations over the years including Evangelical, Methodist, and Presbyterian…and during a season of her life, went astray, as so many of us have done. Ultimately, she embraced the realization that in the end, all that really matters is her relationship with Christ, and that is her focus.
